There are two official prerequisites for the AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions certification:
. One of the following:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification: This certifies your ability to manage and administer resources in Azure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate certification: This certifies your ability to develop and deploy cloud-based applications using Azure services and tools.
- Experience:
- While not explicitly stated as a requirement, Microsoft recommends having at least one year of experience administering and developing in Azure, with strong skills in at least one of these areas:
- Azure DevOps
- GitHub
- CI/CD pipelines
- Cloud development and deployments
Additional things to consider:
- While the recommended experience is one year, the actual requirement depends on your individual skills and knowledge. If you feel confident in your abilities, you might be able to take the exam even without a full year of experience.
- CompTIA recommends having the CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent knowledge before pursuing the AZ-400, as it provides a strong foundation in IT fundamentals.
- There are online resources available, such as practice exams and study guides, that can help you assess your readiness for the exam before committing to it.
